Hi my name is Jim and I co-founded Affinity Managed Services in 2011 bringing my dream to reality of starting a company focused on aligning technology and people without compromise. With eighteen years’ experience in the IT industry and a Masters Degree in Leadership from Royal Roads University no project is too big. My colleagues and I work collaboratively with all stakeholders involved to create smooth transitions for clients and meeting all requirements and deadlines. I also focus on strategic initiatives and system improvements realizing the long term goals of both our clients and Affinity.
Born and raised on the North Shore of Vancouver, BC, I have a passion for my community and recreation. Work/life balance is very important to me and you can often find me working on my fitness with colleagues, clients and friends at the nearby CrossFit gym. While away from the office I spend most of my free time with my wife, two daughters and two cats at home.
Matthew Williams, Vice President
Hi, my name is Matthew Williams and I am the Vice President at Affinity Managed Services. I have an extensive background in systems architecture, systems administration, network design, and project management. At the age of 15, I became one of the youngest recipients ever to receive a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer designation which I have maintained.
Keeping up to date with the latest Microsoft technology allows me to ensure our clients are making the most of their investment. I have earned nearly a dozen certifications, most recently from MIT in the areas of Big Data and Cybersecurity as these areas have become increasingly important in recent years. I believe in creating harmony between technology and people and use my knowledge and experience to help our clients reach their goals.
Menno Bos, Director of Business Development
Menno brings a strong business analyst viewpoint and over 15 years of IT project and business development experience to defining client needs. He believes it is essential to analyze and synthesize information provided by the customers, staff, IT professionals, vendors and executives who interact with the business. He works with Affinity’s clients to identify the actual needs of the business, not simply expressed desires. He often plays a central role in aligning the needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by information technology, and serves as a “translator” between vendors, technical specialists and business decision makers.
Originally a forester by training with a minor in business and Fortran, Menno is true generalist with 15 years of broad experience in manufacturing and distribution operations, as well as running his own business. With a strong commitment to ongoing education, this gives him the ability grasp key issues and priorities and to work with people of diverse points of view.
